Hiya!
This one is mostly directed to straw, but if any of you have some kind of idea how to use programs like this I'd be more then glad to hear (:
I'm look looking for a program that you can use "to make music" I guess you know what i mean (:
Any ideas of good ones? (I've found MadTracker as an example.. I guess :S) And I'd be really happy if there are some kind of "n00bcake video tutorial" to it (: cuz I want to get going and learning by exploring (:
Cheers! happy for answears (:

It depends on if you have any musical experience or playing any instrument.

no experience: Fruity Loops - easy to use Stepsequencer, the best way to learn how sequencers/songs arrangements and stuff works.
Reason - also stepsequencer with a unique interface, you have to plug in every chord to put it in work ;) but more dance music / synth oriented.

some experience: Ableton Live - Loop based sequencer good for live performance and fun to play with.
Sonar - kinda cubase/logic clone, but kinda unhandy imo

Sony Acid Pro - solid loop based sequencer (awesome timestretching on samples

Pro: Cubase Sx2,3,4, Nuendo, Logic 7(mac), ProTools(needs own "soundcard"), Motu Digital Performer(same as ProTools) best, most professional software AIO Music Production Centres ,
Requires some musical know how, unlimited possibilities.

I recommend you to use one of the programs in that list. Everything else is just crap. Remember you should have some Sample Cd's along with this programs or some know-how how to handle software synths and samplers :) good luck

just take a look @ the pre-made tracks, check out how the drum patterns work, where to place the notes and stuff.

If you have figured out how drums patterns work the rest follows by itself.

Is this just for mixing samples and stuff or do you play an instrument?
