Post Laptop help
Hi guise, seems like only a few months ago i posted asking for help with new desktop, well that was a few years ago and shes still going strong. However i'm going to university in September and need a laptop and dont know much about them. This is what i plan on doing:

I'm gonna have some nice bookshelf speakers which will plug into an amplifier cos I like my music good quality and crisp (most my music is 320kbps), and this amp will then plug into my laptop so I will play my songs from my laptop -> amp -> speakers. I dunno if I need a special sound card in laptop for this or if I get one will it make the quality better?

Ill have a 23" HD monitor so laptop screen size doesn't need to be massive. Ill also have a mouse and keyboard and get a docking thing so i can easily take my laptop out and when i'm in my flat I can plug it back in to everything easily.

I want to be able to run normal games i.e team fortress / css with nice graphics, and as i'll have a HD monitor be nice to see some nice images. And also want the laptop to be quite quick. 250GB disk space will be plenty.

I got a budget of like £800-£1000 for laptop / amp / speakers so probably £500-£700 ish for laptop.

I have 15% discount off anything in here as well so if somethings good there perhaps Link

Any help greatly appreciated
thanks

I was looking around and thinking perhaps to customize my own one but have a lot more choices like..

intel i3 2.1GHz
intel i5 2.3/2.5/2.6GHz
intel i7 dual core 2.7GHz or quadcore 2.0GHz

4gb ram vs 8gb ram

also I still dunno if i would need Creative Soundblaster X-Fi HD Audiophile-Grade soundcard as well as having an amp anyone an expert on this kind of stuff?

I guess I pwnd my self there :D

Sandybridge CPU's
i7 = quad core +HT(2630qm - 2920qm) /below that numbers ..dual core + HT
i5 = dual core + HT
i3 = budget, single or dual core with and without HT depending on series - dont buy

If I would buy a Notebook now I'd go for i7 quads.
All Sandybridge CPUs have Intels HD Graphics build in which arent bad at all + save energy in your laptop by disabling the graphics card.... Thats all the info you ll need. Go get something to pwn with.

Or wait for http://newsroom.intel.com/docs/DOC-2032

http://newsroom.intel.com/docs/DOC-1543 :P

I hope you get student discount like in austria. They sell laptops 20% (apple) to 50% (dell,HP...) off for students 2x a year.
